Cosmetic Lotro

Dowsing

This weekend we’ll see the Treasure Hunt again, and I’m really excited to go there to unearth a few more treasures! There are a number of wonderful cosmetic items to obtain, some great housing items and truly interesting emotes. The emotes are some of the best I’ve seen in game so far. One of the easier emotes to obtain is /dowse, as shown in these screenshots. You can find it in treasure caches but you can also just barter for it. The emotes are all bound to account so you can purchase them and pass them on to one of your alts. However there was a restriction when I tried that last time (and I really hope they fixed that), you cannot purchase emotes once you’ve learned them. So if you aim to grind on only one character and purchase emotes for your alts, make sure you purchase or find them all before you learn those emote yourself!

I think the perfect robe for this emote is the Stone-reader’s Robe, the teal Lore-master’s robe from Moria. The satchel that you see is not a Runekeeper’s satchel, but one of the cosmetics that you can obtain in the Treasure Hunt. It fits into the “back” slot, so you cannot use a cloak or backpack at the same time, but it sure looks elegant. The stones that appears with the /dowse emote and on the backpacks are emerald green. These stones match well with the forest green dye.

If you want to know where a certain armour piece or cosmetic comes from, you can look it up on Lotro Wiki, by typing its name into the search box. You can equip any piece of armour cosmetically through the wardrobe, even armour that is not meant for your class or level.

Chest : Stone Reader’s Robe, forest green dye (Moria barter, Lore-master)
Feet: Ryscdail, forest green dye (boa drop from The Foundry T2, light)
Back: Treasure Hunter’s Satchel, forest green dye (Treasure Hunt  reward, cosmetic)

  1. Ah that’s good to know. I have two of those emote “enveloppes” in my vault, but haven’t decided which alt can have them, so I haven’t actually tried it in action. The /dowse emote is always green, but I will amend the text!

  2. I never realized that robe could look so good! Also, beautiful location for your screesnhots.

I’m looking forward to having another go at the treasure hunt this weekend! The goodies are calling my name… 😀
