With all the new Minas Morgul cosmetics coming out and being shown around, this outfit instantly became very “old school”, even though I made it recently. I continue to enjoy older sets and designs, even as time progresses and we are now adding weapon glows to our cosmetic options. I am fine with all those things and I will integrate the Minas Morgul sets into an outfit at some point. Still the more simple and perhaps a tiny bit more realistic and refined Middle-earth fashion is what really appeals to me. Now to be fair, the new armour sets are beautiful, and I am hoping that the new expansion gear will be just as attractive as well.
In the meantime I am left wondering what I should do with the 120 level boost. The idea of using it is appealing, not so much because I would actually play the character, but because I would have an additional character to position for screenshots around higher level areas. So far I haven’t decided which one of my characters will get the boost, because I also enjoy playing my alts at their own level and pace. Maybe a new character altogether? Maybe even a Stout-Axe Dwarf? Decisions, decisions…
For now, I’ve dressed up my male hunter elf in a classic outfit and enjoyed it.
Head: Brilliant Forest Defender’s Mask, Belegaer blue dye (Curator Bree Fountain seasonal vendor)
Shoulders: Shoulders of the Lady’s Defence, dark clay dye (Dâr Narbugud guardian armour, or cosmetic Lalia’s Market)
Chest: Jacket of the Lady’s Discernment, dark clay dye (Dâr Narbugud hunter armour)
Legs: Leggings of the Lady’s Discernment, dark clay dye (Dâr Narbugud hunter armour)
Hands: Gauntlets of the Lady’s Discernment, dark clay dye (Dâr Narbugud hunter armour)
Feet: Lasgalen Spring Dress Boots, default (Spring Festival)
Back: Silvan Quiver (Lotro Store)
Bow: Bow of Unification
I absolutely love all of the DN sets, they look amazing no matter the passage of the years (kinda like elves haha XD) unexpected pairing with those boots, but both color and shape fit the rest of the outfit. For somereason I always find them rather bulky on my chars
I agree that all DN sets are wonderful. Probably still the best Elven cosmetics in the game. Though we do a pretty good job dressing up those elves with all kinds of attire haha 😉
I will always love my classic cosmetics, especially those from the Lothorien and Isengard eras. There are no better cosmetic designs and they have unparalleled flexibility, in my opinion. But I had to have my fun with the new xpac bonus items and get that out of my system!
As for me, I used something similar on one of my hunters. What caught me off guard here was the pairing of the mask with the DN set. I would have expected the more neutrally colored Golden Forest Defender’s Mask to be used instead, but the iridescence of the Brilliant one balances the silvered quiver and the belegaer blue of the chest/pants better. Well done!
This post actually made me realize how good DN armor matches the new festival items, which was somewhat unexpected! Thank you for the inspiration, as always. Now I might be able to finish my mirkwood warden armor after all!
Thank you for the kind comment! Great combinations are sometimes found the most unlikely places. Have fun creating your outfits!
I hope that this break will not last a few years as before 😏
I will get back to it eventually! 😉
