Rivendell Housing is finally going to be opened up, and I cannot wait to purchase my house (or more than one).
After the server move last year I decided to not repurchase my Belfalas home, saving up the funds for Rivendell, and I have been waiting anxiously ever since.
Rivendell is where my first “main” character Hymne hails from, and it was with Hymne that I experienced my first epic adventures and instances. Hymne became my social media and forums name, and I have used her to feature many, many outfits on my blog in the early days.
Unfortunately Hymne, who is a Minstrel, has been stuck as a tailor in the Crafting Hall in Bree for a very long time now, ever since I discovered that I prefer to play Lore-master and Rune-keeper much more, and even like Champion and Hunter better; but now that Rivendell housing is on the horizon, I decided to find her and invite her to take the trip back to Rivendell and give her a permanent home there, honouring her special status as “first main”.
Hymne is dressed up in a combination of classic Rivendell armour, refurbished with some new tailor-made pieces, for an upgraded look of her older Rivendell outfit (you can find her original vintage outfit here). I am still in love with these Rivendell armour pieces that you can purchase from the Medium Armour Smith. There are other Armour Smith pieces and crafted pieces in that same level range that are still my favourite outfits and still in use by quite a few of my Elves. The pieces may be dated, but combined with a few newer pieces here and there, they make for some of the best Elvish outfits.
Rather than making use of swift travel, Hymne decided to take the trip on foot, this time unbothered by the many creatures and villains on the road through the Lone-lands, hoping to reach the Trollshaws and Rivendell soon to acquire her forever home!

love the combo of new and classic pieces and the color scheme! Especially because the old pieces do not warp the avatar’s skeleton :’) violet and gold always give an elegant vibe to any outfit
Some pieces are still awesome and some new pieces also work, unfortunately a lot of older pieces have been ruined with alterations that do not fit the feminine. The older elven boot designs now look like Dutch Clomps, formerly elegant shoulder pieces are now gigantic , and the original ranger-look boots now all look like pirate boots. It’s hard to find good stuff that looks nice on a female elf, but it’s still out there.

I’ve been reading your blog for a long time and I’ve been inspired by outfits. And I can’t help but take advantage of the offer and make a kind of “challenge.” At least for me, this is exactly a “cosmetic challenge.” Well, I’m not sure if a Brushed Chestguard of the Ithilien Path-finder (North Ithilien Herbalist) can be considered a “retro” item, but still… It’s medium armor, but I associate it more with light armor. I really like this tunic, nevertheless, for all the time I’ve not been able to create an outfit with this particular tunic that would completely satisfy me. The best attempt at the moment: Brushed Chestguard (lorien gold), Hat of the Hopeful Melody (Ost Galadh minstrel trainer, grey), Harmonious Gloves (Figments of Splendour Cosmetics barter, grey), Alchemist’s boots (Figments of Splendour Cosmetics barter, black), Worn Fighting Cloak (Brawlers start armor set, lorien gold). This is an unexpectedly difficult-to-use cosmetic! I eager to see a cosmetic set that you would assemble with this tunic.
Thank you for reading my blog and your kind comment! The Chestguard you are referring too is quite a challenge indeed! It has black as a secondary color that cannot be altered, which means we will have to play along and find something compatible that resonates. I will rummage through my stacks of items and see if I can come up with something flattering, but I think your combination is already a step in the right direction, especially the cloak seems like a good match to me! Please allow me some time to play around with this piece, and surely something will eventually emerge.
