Cosmetic Lotro

Make a Wish

Some exquisite and elegant Elven cosmetics have been made available trough the Patron Coffers of Noldor, Mirkwood and Rivendell. Truly magnificent and unique designs that cannot be replicated with any other cosmetics or armour that is available in game. I have yet to purchase one of the Elvish Coffers, but I am putting it off since these ready made outfits do not really fit any of my characters, nor add to the fun that I have putting my own outfits together with odds and ends. But I do see many players donning these outfits, and they look stunning, albeit a bit same-ish.
Perhaps some time in the future I will purchase an Elvish coffer if I feel some of the items would be an addition to my wardrobe as a whole.

Nevertheless the cosmetic designs in Lotro are getting better and more refined, compared to what was available 10 years ago. I use these more modern items to upgrade the looks of older designs. I see the older Elvish armour as classic and timeless. I still love using those pieces and always seek to improve the way that I use them.

I was sad when the devs removed the level 65 Mirkwood raid armour designs from the Skirmish camp. I am lucky to own most of those armour sets already, but for players who may have trusted those pieces to always be there, it was a big let down. Still the level 85 Mirkwood raid armour designs are available at the Skirmish camp (I don’t know for how long though). They are not as colourful and versatile as their level 65 equivalents, but you can still make a lovely outfit with those pieces.

The story of this reminiscing Elf is anyone’s guess, but she did make her way to the banks of the Anduin with a coin in her hand. And although the Elves were not superstitious and would not rely on tossing coins into the water for good luck, they would have had ways to ask the Valar for subtle guidance. They didn’t make offerings nor had any formal spiritual or religious practice, but perhaps more common people like the men of Bree or the Hobbits, did carry items for good luck or tossed a coin in the water when they needed a safe journey. Who knows if this Elven Lady has observed this informal practice and felt inspired to do the same, wishing for the safe return of a loved one.
