Swan-maiden

Eärwen, mother of Galadriel, was known as the Swan-maiden of Alqualondë. The swan was an important bird in the tales of the Elder Days. Swans were sent by the Maiar to draw the ships of the Teleri over Belegaer to Aman without help of the winds. The Teleri thus especially came to revere swans, and named their city Alqualondë (the Swanhaven) and built their ships in swan-form.

The new Yule Festival cosmetics lend themselves nicely for a Swan-themed outfit. Swans play an important role in Middle-earth and the swan-theme can be found with elves, like in the shape of the ships in Lothlórien as well as on the armour of the men of Gondor. The Belegaer blue dye is always a very desirable dye color, but only available during the Yule festival, so remember to stock up for the next two years (next year it’s going to be available for mithril only).
I was almost going to make this a Legendary outfit, but couldn’t find proper gloves on the Legendary server. However all pieces except for the gloves and shoes, can be obtained on the Legendary.

Head: Time-worn Helmet, Belegaer blue dye (high elf intro-instance, medium armour)
Shoulders: Shoulderguards of the Northern Sky, Belegaer blue dye (Yule festival cosmetic)
Chest: Vestments of the Northern Sky, Belegaer blue dye (Yule festival cosmetic)
Hands: Heavy Gauntlets of the Grey Mountain Stalwart, Belegaer blue dye (Adventurer’s Quartermaster Ered Mithrin)
Feet: Shoes of the Lady’s Wisdom, walnut dye (Lore-master Lothlórien lvl60 raid armour)
Back: Swan-cloak, Belegaer blue dye (Lotro store cosmetic)

  1. That’s a beautiful outfit! I literally just swapped out that cloak while using the same general color scheme. The new Yule Fest robe is wonderful and makes for some delightful possibilities. I almost used the Cloak of the Dove (or Ibis), but I wanted to play a bit more with the darker browns from the robe.

Love it! and yes those new cosmetics are leading to some great possibilities! Can’t wait to finish mine up as well! Again, well done!

Lovely! I almost went with Belegaer Blue too! I ultimately decided on Crimson for the holidays, but dyed in my wardrobe, so I might try this look, too.
