I am not very lucky at lotteries. Though I have won a Pax Mount once a while ago, I have never won a class mount. However I console myself with the thought that the majority of players don’t win one either, so I’m no exception to the rule. This means that if I want a class mount for my character, I have to buy it. I liked the Runekeeper horse when it came out, but because at this time I am not levelling my RK actively, I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to invest my TP into this horse at this point. However, since these class mounts are only offered for a limited time, and many months may go by before they become available once more, I decided to get it now, and I love it! It inspires me to continue a bit more with my RK again!
The perfect match to this steed is the Rivendell Elven Dress. Dyed grey it closely matches the colour of the steeds’ tack. I matched it with minstrel shoulders that can only be bartered for if you have PvMP rank 3, but these can easily be replaced with something else. The new Isengard instance shoulders for example are a good substitute here. I’ve also tried dying the shoulders and runesatchel in sea-blue. This brightens up the outfit considerably and is a good match as well, though not as close as grey. You can place your runesatchel in the wardrobe and dye it in any colour you like.
If you want to know where a certain armour piece or cosmetic comes from, you can look it up in the Lorebook, by typing its name into the search box. You can equip any piece of armour cosmetically through the wardrobe, even armour that is not meant for your class or level.
Head: Turquoise Summer Circlet, default dye (gift-boxes, cosmetic)
Shoulders: Pauldrons of the Wandering Bard, grey dye (Ettenmoors minstrel barter, rank 3)
Chest : Long-sleeved Elven Dress, grey dye (Rivendell kindred reputation, cosmetic)
beautiful 🙂
That’s just… insanely beautiful. I don’t even have a RK (not above level 15, anyway), but I’m so tempted to buy this horse. If it were account-wide, I’d get it in a heartbeat. This outfit just makes me fall in love with it more.
very pretty and gentle – even her hair matches the horse 🙂
That is a tough steed to outfit for and you did a really great job. She looks really lovely
Now if only I could fins something for my Dwarven RK that came close to the right colors. Eija is a lady Dwarf but I NEVER put her in dresses! She has this horse but I am finding it impossible to get her outfit correct. This color falls between Navy and Sea Blue and neither looks “right”. The dress on your Elf looks extremely pleasant and very pretty.
You may want to try the Tier 7 crafted heavy chestpiece. It cannot be dyed but the default colour matches the steed too. Perhaps the Tier 7 light robe works as well, dyed grey. It has an undyeable part on the sleeves and chest that matches too. You can try the Tier 7 shoulders (with fur) to finish the look, or any other shoulders in grey.
Freyjuska from Lotro Fashion has used the Forochel Great Hoary Aurochs Robe successfully, so you may want to consider that for your dwarf as well.
Oh, this is stunning! Like Freyjuska said, I love the softness of the colours.
I was lucky enough to win the steed in the lotto for my runekeeper and I’m definitely going to put this together for her to wear. 🙂
Great find for the dress to match the mount 🙂 I’m still deciding whether i should get the Steed of the Rune-Keeper, i have a 75 Rune-Keeper but she is purely for crafting and it’s not my favourite class for end game over some others, but since i also have to collect EVERY mount on my main Hunter it will cost exta which i’m not prepared to do right now 😦 I think this steed will have to wait until it next pops up in an offer or something.
How does the Elven hauberk from the outfitter in Celondim, dyed navy, look with this horse? On my toon, it looks like it could work, but I’m too chicken to buy the horse just yet.
Very pretty. 🙂 I’m guessing that the sea blue dye looks similar to the colour of the bodice of the dress where it goes a different colour? 🙂
I wish I’d known about the invisible first RK satchel you get, I’d have kept it. I think they’re damn ugly things and I wish I didn’t hate to tote one around with me everywhere
This is one post I wish I had not seen! I hate spending points on horses, but that RK steed has been calling to me. And you are only making me want it more with your perfectly matched rider and horse. This is really splendid!
OK, when I got the tweet that today is the last day to buy the horse, and I didn’t win the lottery, I broke down and bought it. And for anyone wondering, the Elven hauberk from the Celondim outfitter IS a perfect match. Dyed navy, the gold dyable bits turn greyish, which complements the horse nicely. So for those of us who don’t wear dresses, it’s something you may want to look into. If you’re on the fence about getting the horse, do it. I don’t think you’ll regret it.
The horse is a keeper! I am not a personal fan of that elven robe, but I can see how navy dye can make it work. Perhaps grey or black dye even. 🙂
