Cosmetic Lotro

Elven flowers

When winter passed, she came again,
And her song released the sudden spring,
Like rising lark, and falling rain,
And melting water bubbling.
He saw the elven-flowers spring
About her feet, and healed again,
He longed by her to dance and sing
Upon the grass untroubling.

~ from: Tinúviel by J.R.R. Tolkien

Of the many stories that Tolkien wrote, the story of Beren and Lúthien Tinúviel has always touched me deeply. Not in the last place because of personal reasons, but also because it is the story about the two most important archetypes of our human hearts: love and sorrow.
When I created my main character Hymne, I made her an Elf Minstrel because I had Tinúviel in mind. Through her experiences and adventures, Hymne has matured and grown into a character of her own, but sometimes I take her back to her roots, and remember that early ancestor and inspiration. These screenshots represent how I envisioned my little elf minstrel from the beginning.

I really don’t remember where I got the helm. I only remember snatching it up and thinking: wow that looks very elvish! It was probably one of the level 75 instances or skirmish raids, but I honestly don’t know and it’s been some months ago. If anyone knows where this comes from I would appreciate the information. The cloak has been with me since launch of RoI and have finally found some use for it. It’s a difficult cloak to dye and match because of the grey and green base colours. As a finishing touch I used shoulders that belong to a level 65 hunter raid set, but many of these raid pieces now drop in skirmish raids where people discard them as useless (except me of course!!).

If you want to know where a certain armour piece or cosmetic comes from, you can look it up in the Lorebook, by typing its name into the search box. You can equip any piece of armour cosmetically through the wardrobe, even armour that is not meant for your class or level.

Head: Cap of the Mender, Rivendell green dye (level 75 drop, light)
Shoulders: Shoulder-guards of the Keen Eye, Rivendell green dye (level 75 skirmish raid drop, medium)
Chest : Exquisite Elven Dress, Rivendell greeb dye (Mirkwood kindred reputation or Lotro store, cosmetic)
Back: Embroidered Cloak of the Dunland Healer, Rivendell green dye (Dunland quest reward)

  1. Wow, just saw that hat for the first time in game. It lead me to do a little research (stumbling upon this which I somehow missed in February, go figure). The cap drops from Great Barrows. Which wing, I’m not sure.
