Cosmetic Lotro

Winter is coming

December has started today, so it’s time to get in the mood for winter and yule tide! I plan to do a number of Yule outfits this months that will get us through the colder days and icy snow storms ahead. In the meantime, Aaron Campbell’s comment that we won’t be seeing our Yule Festival until January has me worried a lot! I always enjoy playing in the Yule Festival during my Christmas holidays, and now it appears we won’t be having any around that time. It seems to me there is a lot of attention going to Update 5 which will be released this month and focuses on endgame content, at the expense of a more casual event for the masses.

Also you may have noticed that I have begun changing the layout of my blog. This is still a work in progress, but the new theme at least provides me with enough flexibility to build upon. I have no fixed plan about it so I’ll have to wait and see how it’s going to work out.
Enjoy this beautiful winter month and don’t forget to check the Lotro store every day for the daily sales!

If you want to know where a certain armour piece or cosmetic comes from, you can look it up in the Lorebook, by typing its name into the search box. You can equip any piece of armour cosmetically through the wardrobe, even armour that is not meant for your class or level.

    Hi!
Long time reader first time poster, I love your outfits and I really like this. Could you give me a substitute for the shoulders?I picked green instead of white so it would be much appreciated
    Thanks In advanced πŸ™‚

    • There are not a lot of shoulders that dye a good solid white. In stead you might try to combine it with red like a red Yule Scarf. If you insist on white, just try the plain Cotton Shoulders (the ones that wrap around) in white. You can either craft those (light armour) or buy them from a light armour vendor.

Ahh thank you I actually have the scarf so I can try that πŸ™‚ is it true that the yule festival is after christmas? I wont be very happy about that as a very casual player :/

This looks very festive. Thanks for posting. That ‘Chestpiece of the Charging Stag’ is awesome. Seems a very versatile piece of clothing. Guess ill have to pick one of those up. Hope its not in competition with many other choices for that quest.

Wow I was really looking forward to the Yule festival. . .

The new layout is looking good…

  3. ahh i might have to adapt that for my dwarf – great outfit as usual πŸ™‚ that’s disappointing news about the Yule festival… I also get more time to play during the xmas hols and I’m not sure it will feel right being festive in January although perhaps it might cheer the January doldrums a little?

    *sniff* My comment got eaten…..

I said I like your Santa Dwarf. His colours are very festive. πŸ™‚ Not to mention the call from ZZTop will be coming in any day now…. πŸ˜‰

I also said I like the new layout and design, but that the horsie on the background is only showing its back leg and tail behind the middle panel for me. πŸ™‚ I also like the festive snow. CTSM has it turned on as well. πŸ˜€

As well…. Yule festival in January? WTF?? What’s the point in even having it then, Yule will have been long over? I can understand that they’re all gearing up for Update Five, but since the festivals are essentially a switch in the code that gets flipped to on or off, it makes no sense that they’re not running it. It would give people something to do.

    Stupid idea.

    • Hey Pointy, I resized the horsy a bit, should be visible on smaller screens as well, though perhaps not entirely which is not a problem. I’m still working on the blog and not nearly done, the header and background are in place until I have time and inspiration to do something better. It works for now and I’m happy with the new layout.
Nobody is sure about the Yule festival being delayed. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

I see the horsie now. πŸ™‚ I run at 1280 so you must have it set to big to hide it. πŸ™‚ It’s now galloping out of the window rather than waving its tail at me. πŸ˜€

  5. As soon as i saw this chest piece while questing in Dunland and i dyed it crimson and my thoughts were ‘santa outfit!’ and so i kept it for that reason. It looks great on your dwarf πŸ™‚
