Fashionable?

Ever since the Fashion Maven event was announced on the forum I’ve been hanging around Bree, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Maven, and of course hoping she would catch a glimpse of me. I’ve spent Friday evening, Saturday all day and Sunday all day walking around, looking and asking people in /glff if they’d seen her (no, I don’t mind to be called nuts). Unfortunately no one has seen her. On the forums there are only reports of people with the same experience, no reports of sightings or titles. Sunday is half way over in Europe and nothing has happened. I don’t think this event was appropriately labeled “all weekend long”. If anything is going to happen later tonight (EU time), I will probably miss out because of real life obligations.
In the mean time, hanging around in Bree with absolutely nothing to do but wait for two days, at least gave me ample of time to share some screenshots with you of the outfit that I think is deserving of a Fashionable title, even if I will miss out on it!

Where is she??

If you want to know where a certain armour piece or cosmetic comes from, you can look it up in the Lorebook, by typing its name into the search box. You can equip any piece of armour cosmetically through the wardrobe, even armour that is not meant for your class or level.

Head : Elegant Plumed Hat, red dye (Lotro store exclusive, cosmetic)

Chest : Robe of the Learned, crimson dye (barter reward from Helegrod, runekeeper)

Shoulders: Westfold Skirmish Pauldrons, black dye (crafted, medium)

Hands: Leather Gauntlets of the Leaping Stag, black dye (Dunland quest reward, medium)

Feet: Threadbare Shoes of the Dunland Healer, black dye (Dunland quest reward, light)

Hello, Hymne. My companion Bronyraur and I took up your vigil in front of the Prancing Pony and stayed by our post (well, milestone) until 1:00 a.m. Sunday GMT. Sadly, we saw no mavens and were neither labelled fashionable for our togs or unfashionable for our smoking habit. (Brony has a terrible cough today.)

We can attest (being on Snowbourn) that you looked fabulous! You ARE the Fashion Maven.

    • Oh my, that is the sweetest compliment I ever got! And it’s truly much more appreciated that any title ever will!
On Snowy no reports of the Maven at all. On other servers 21st hall and Rivendell have been reported. Maybe we’re just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Thanks for joining on the quest!!

  2. God, i’ll always love that hat! I was labelled Unfashionable when i was just beginning on Lotro and i was so upset! I’ve been craving to meet a fashion maven ever since and get that fashionable title, no luck this weekend for me but i was ill so couldn’t be on much, someone reported she was in Bree Saturday night on Evernight and i completely missed it.

  3. Wow, that is seriously the most elegant outfit I’ve seen on the server so far!!! Is that fur cape part of the cloak, or is it separate? I can’t seem to find it in any of the outfit lists… Love your blog!

    Hi there,
today i pranced around Bree and tried to attract GM interest into my horrible outfit. To no avail. I really wanted the “Eyesore” title, so i tried harder and began to play music in front of the prancing pony.

After an hour or so, i finally got my title and reward (the hat of shame).

So, for you to have a laugh at my expense, the link to our kinship blog article, documenting my clothing and outfit for the day: http://heldenvonbree.wordpress.com/2011/11/26/schlabberiges-zierwerk-aus-dem-vorhof-der-holle/

  5. Hymne, thanks for clearing that up for me! πŸ™‚
And rhadhrudhruth, what an outfit! Brilliant πŸ˜€ Thankfully I am fluent in German, so I got to read the whole entry – I think “der/die Adrette” is a much better-sounding title than “the Fashionable” πŸ˜‰ Congrats on getting the title! Good to know that Belevaere at least got some Maven visiting time…looks like they’ve forgotten Laurelin, again. Well, at least it’s fun to see more colourful outfits around than usual! πŸ™‚

I can confirm that the Maven did visit Laurelin. I think I caught their eye in Galtrev, although I was slightly surprised to be deserving of an unfashionable title. I suppose fashion is in the eye of the beholder.

      • Fashion definitely is in the eye of the beholder…I’ve seen some of the “Eyesore” outfits and there’s a couple that are totally brilliant imho πŸ˜€
Yeah, I heard about Galtrev too last night…too bad peeps like me have no way of getting there because we are too low-level. Happy for you though! πŸ™‚

I just recently started playing lotro and one of the things I really enjoy in the game are cosmetics and searching for beautiful armor to create new outfits. Via google I soon found your blog and i absolutely love it! Thank you for all the work you’re putting into this.
As for the above outfit: It looks marvelous. I’ve been spending hours to find out abut the fur shoulders. Do you know whether the above posted are the only ones that look like fur?

    • Yes the above, and also the medium and heavy version are the only shoulders with fur. If you have purchased the Wardrobe you can use these shoulders cosmetically, even when they are far above your level. Check the auction house for these shoulders between lvl 67-75, or ask a friendly high level tailor to make some for you.
Thanks for your kind comments! Enjoy the game! πŸ™‚

      • Molila

Then I guess I’ll have to train my patience skills for a little while longer, as my main has just reached level 43. Patience is a virtue, though…so…. *nail-biting*….soon enough I’ll have them tailored myself. πŸ™‚ Until then I’ll stick with the Shoulders of the Helmingas or maybe I’ll use the ones my hobbit lady got for a quest in Archet. (forgot the name)

        Thanks for the help! πŸ™‚
