Ñoldor elves have a long history full of feuds and war mongering. But they were also the elves with the deepest knowledge of old lore and they could do things that seem magical to mere mortals. They typically had dark hair, with a few exceptions, and their heritage survived even until the days of Elrond.
I am very much enjoying the loremaster themes lately, and I think these armour pieces from Dunland fit him perfectly. However I have tried the same ensemble on my female elf, and it looks horrible! It makes her look plump and stiff. It definitely doesn’t work for a girl, which is unfortunate because the design itself is really beautiful.
The outfit is not a robe or dress, but consists of two separate pieces. However they were probably designed to go together and appear like a robe because they have matching fabric around the belt. And I’m in love with those shoulders! I use them for everything lately!
Chest: Clanweave Robe, black dye (Dunland quest reward, light)
Shoulders: Padded Mantle of the Dunland Soothsayer, black dye (Dunland quest reward, light)
Hands: Dolen Lhaw, black dye (Vol.III book 4 reward, medium)
Legs: Starkmoor Caretaker’s Leggings, black dye (Dunland quest reward, light)
Feet: Threadbare Shoes of the Dunland Healer, black dye (Dunland quest reward, light)
And the legs are from where?
Oops, I forgot to add the description. They are a reward from Starkmoor, but they are repeated somewhere else. I believe in Dunbog but not sure.
This is the first time I post a comment on your blog but I’ve been a fan of yours for a long time… 😀
You make such elegant and stylish outfits with a good taste and so much imagination. As a casual roleplayer, I especially love lore-inspired outfits like this one. Some of these outfits I’ve got for my characters and I do mention this blog to anyone who asks about them.
Keep up good work!
Blanzeflor of Brandywine
Tilhi of Landroval
Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙂
I definitely like this one. I may have to give in and buy RoI so I can get the new outfits.
Oh this is really great on male character.
I tried it today for my character but was giving the impression that her neck was inserted into the shoulders
Where can I get this chest? 🙂
Hi Krushak, the items are always listed in my posts and you can look up any item in the lorebook. I have seen both chest and legs in several places as questrewards in Dunland.
Chest: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Armour:Clanweave_Robe
Leggings: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Armour:Starkmoor_Caretaker%27s_Leggings
Mh … is there another way to get this Chest?
The only way to obtain this is by questing in Dunland. The chest+leggings are offered as quest rewards for at least two different quests, perhaps even three, but I have seen them at least twice.
I tried the same thing with my female loremaster and it was awful, so I spent soem time lurking for an ideal upper body cosmetic to fit the leggings, and you know what I found out? The isengard prisoner shirt and gloves fit perfectly! You just need to dye one piece crimson and the other burgundy and it’s almost the same color, and it gives you and odd, dunlander feeling to your elf 😀
Yes the female shape looks horrible in that chest piece, however I’m not too sure I like the shabby stitched up look of the Prisoner set with those refined long leggings either! 😉
Eek! What a striking figure! This is really too good!
