Cosmetic Lotro

Over the hills

This week the Character Slots are on sale and I just couldn’t help myself. More characters equals more bagspace and more outfit models for me, so I did get myself not one but two more character slots and filled them up already! As there are no more classes available that I do not already have, I chose the class that I love to play most, minstrel, but this one is a fancy hobbit lass. I made her a Stoor so I can use boots for her without any feelings of remorse! I love boots on hobbit girls, but I don’t use any on my burglar girl as it seems inappropriate.
The cloak in this outfit is a reward from the Great River quest A Bold Rescue. The base colour of the cloak is very dark, which makes it hard to dye. The rose dye that I used gives the outline a deep indigo colour while applying a deep rose hue to the center.

I’m super excited about the start of the Anniversary Festival tomorrow! I’ve been playing this game since Beta on the European servers, so this virtual Middle Earth has been important to me over the past five years. I still love the game and as one of the long time players I’m looking forward to some exclusive cosmetics!
Sapience encourages everyone to clear enough bagspace on all characters, and Jadzi estimated the amount of necessary open slots to about 9 for a 5-year account. I’m all ready for it and the first thing I’ll do will be lighting some fireworks!

If you want to know where a certain armour piece or cosmetic comes from, you can look it up on Lotro Wiki, by typing its name into the search box. You can equip any piece of armour cosmetically through the wardrobe, even armour that is not meant for your class or level.

Chest: Scout’s Weathered Leather Jacket, indigo dye (Dunland quest reward, medium)
Shoulders: Embroidered Mantle of the Dunland Healer, burgundy dye (Dunland quest reward, light)
Hands

Feet: Ceremonial Boots of the Learned, burgundy dye (skirmish camp barter, Helegrod light cosmetic)
Back: Odda’s Woolen Cloak, rose dye (Great River quest reward, light)

  1. This outfit is so gorgeous! I love hobbits so very much. But I just read on the site that the Anniversary Fest doesn’t start til the 17th, unless they changed it again (when I first read it, I swear it said the 15th).

  2. What a pretty blend of colours, looks really nice. 🙂

I’m looking forward to the start of the festivities too! Time to let off some fireworks and check out all the new goodies!

  3. DarkJackal

Lovely combination! The color matches her eyes! And the gauntlets even look good. I’m not a big fan of them normally, but here they really go well with the bold silver blocking on the cloak.

  4. Lasswen

Oooh, that cloak is wonderful! Love purple, I have a hobbit that wears the purple tones all the time since her name is Lavendah 🙂

One of my favorite outfits that you’ve done. I love the Odda’s Woolen Cloak and have had it in my wardrobe since I got it. However, after being gone for a couple weeks with work, I come back to find that Turbine ruined the cloak’s look. It is no longer two tone in color, and seriously looks like something set out to dry in the sun for months and faded terribly. 😦 very disappointed in the unexpected and unnecessary change.

    • Yes I completely agree! I’ve bugged it in game but have little hope that it will be fixed. The Cloak of the Seven Stars suffered a change as well with Update 7 that many are disappointed about, especially since that cloak has been in the game for years!

  6. Fergas

I found several pieces ruined after Update 7. Weeks ago I bartered for a purple burglar chestpiece at ox clan just for cosmetical purpose. It was nearly black and dyed in only dark colours but now it’s a terrible washed out grey and dyes in terrible washed out pastel colours.
