I don’t really know where to start with outfitting in Rise of Isengard. There is such a large selection of new armour pieces and cloaks that it is hard to make a choice. I decided on the medium armour chest that is a common reward from the initial quests in Trum Dreng and the Bonevales. It appears as a quest reward in several places. The boots in this outfit are light armour, but they have a nice design. However this design does not show up on female characters unfortunately. On female elves and women the boots miss the fold at the top and are just simple straight boots. This might be confusing when choosing quest rewards. It is not uncommon in Lotro that items have a different design on males and females, many crafted items differ in design or default colours, so it’s probably not a bug.
I hope you are all enjoying yourselves as much as I am. I think the questlines are a lot of fun and very well designed. The layering system is still a bit buggy but I am sure they will work that out very soon. Overall it is a very well designed expansion with a lot of attention to detail especially to the design of the new armour pieces.

Feet: Disused Shoes of the Dunland Soothsayer, rust dye (Dunland quest reward, light)
Back: Faded Spearman’s Cloak, umber dye (Dunland quest reward)
Really love this Jacket/hauberk and that cloak looks amazing with it! Thank you for pointing out the boots look differently on male/female characters. I’ve been leveling a female so I totally missed these.
It’s a shame though, because I would love to have this design on my female elf! The female version looks very plane and also has bad clipping when used with old world pants and hauberks. 😦
I rather like that cloak, too bad it’s hooded (personal preference is hoodless).
There is also an unhooded version! Somewhere… in Dunland… 😛 I saw someone wearing it.
There are a large number of nice cloaks from quest rewards everywhere!
Oh, ok. If I ever go to Dunland, I’ll keep an eye out for it, thanks.
I also found a lot of really nice clothing items in my first 40 minutes into Dunland. Even a helmet for me runkeeper and several robes and boots. Now i have the problem that my bank account is full and my wardrobe seems to only support 100 items. How do you manage your cosmetic clothing?
