Most of us by now are exploring the new area of the Great River, and what a beautiful adventure it is indeed! I am enjoying myself immensely and wasn’t going to post an outfit at all, had it not been that I stumbled on the discovery that the Tier 7 crafted heavy armour is now suddenly dyeable! I was very pleasantly surprised to discover this, as it was already bugged in Isengard Beta. I guess some bugs do get fixed in time after all! The armour looks really nice when dyed and I couldn’t resist combining it with some of my shiny new quest rewards from Thinglad.
I am a slow quester because I actually read all the quests and immerse myself in the story. Noriel’s story was great except that the outcome made me moan and grumble. However the Thinglad rewards were worth it. It looks like the older PvMP armour has been given a second life in the Great River rewards, just like the Evendim barter rewards that I’ve seen pop up around Stangard. A new and very good feature is that if you don’t care for the armour rewards you can choose currency tokens instead.
Back to questing now!
If you want to know where a certain armour piece or cosmetic comes from, you can look it up on Lotro Wiki, by typing its name into the search box. You can equip any piece of armour cosmetically through the wardrobe, even armour that is not meant for your class or level.
Head: Hat of the Concerned Elf, sienna dye (Great River quest reward, light)
Shoulders: Noriel’s Folly, sienna dye (Great River quest reward, light)
Chest: Strong Dunlending War Armour, sienna dye (crafted T7, heavy)
Hands: Gloves of the Forbidden Love, grey dye (Great River quest reward, medium)
Feet: Elven Steel Boots, sienna dye (armour smith Rivendell, heavy)
Back: Fine Quiver, sienna dye (festival recipe crafted cosmetic)
What an outfit! 🙂
Matches the area really well and those armour pieces look great together.
What shield is that? I really like it!
The shield is called Shield of Endless Heroics, it’s a teal item and I believe it dropped in a Skirmish Raid.
Dying it does help! Looks magnificent! Like the blend of soft and strong. I still don’t like that chest piece for males, but on females it looks appropriate. Background looks perfect too! The setting appears very moody! It will be a while before I get over there. I’m always a whole update or more behind (just catching up on my Galtrev quests and moving to Starkmoor now!) but I’m glad to see there is something worth pushing on for.
This is lovely. I love this chest piece dyed. It fits perfectly with the new quest rewards.
One smal question. Is there aternative item with same look as Hat of the Concerned Elf? I missed this one and its bound on my friends chars so i cant get it without an alt.. and its still 20 levels away 🙂
I need two more alts to get all the quest rewards myself as well! Too many options that are not repeated. The only other place I have seen this helmet is as a PvMP reward at the vendors in the Ettenmoors.
Very nice outfit 🙂
I like that sword…. unlike most higher level weapons it doesn’t glow much and you can really see the hilt design
