Who says that Bilbo was the only Hobbit with enough Tookish blood to feel drawn to adventure? In Lotro’s Middle Earth, the Shire is full of curious and brave hobbits, who through their loyalty and friendship, turn the tide of Sauron against himself. Some aid the rangers in secret, and proudly wear their star upon their shoulders. Some even travel all the way to Rohan, to follow Prince Théodred into battle. Hobbits are everywhere, but they are small and overlooked easily by proud men who cannot fathom they even exist.
If you are looking forward to the Hobbit Movie with as much anticipation as I am, you may want to enjoy yourself while waiting with the animated version of the Hobbit Movie from 1977. It’s truly charming and a joy to watch if you haven’t already!

Great outfit, as usual! I especially love the second screenshot. Great capturing the “don’t mess with me” look in the eye. The animated Hobbit is awesome. I grew up on that; I wanted to BE Bilbo Baggins. It’s the reason I play a Hobbit in LOTRO (although I went Warden instead of Burglar). Naturally, it’s something Tookish that led my Hobbit to take up the spear.

This is quite a capable looking fellow! Not that I should be surprised or anything, it’s just that he really does look the warrior.
There are some elements of the animated Hobbit that are ingrained in my mind as “what they are supposed to look like”. Gollum is utterly amazing, and as good as Serkis and Jackson make the movie version, I still like the gray/green frog from hell. I also really dig Gandalf, Elrond, Bard, and Smaug. But I tried watching it just recently, and didn’t get very far. I think the visuals are better without the sound. I have the illustrated book (which has become a collectors item, thou my copy is falling apart) and still enjoy looking at it all these years later!
