In the days before the War of the Ring, when Isengard was in friendly or at least neutral hands, the river Isen formed an effective barrier between the Westfold and the lands of the Dunlendings, the hereditary foes of Rohan. But with the treachery of Saruman, Isengard rendered the whole river useless as a strategic frontier.
Théodred the marshal of the west-mark; Erkenbrand the lord of Westfold, and Grimbold his marshal, were all determined by tradition to defend the old frontier come what may. In this they were no doubt mistaken: for Saruman’s army of Orcs, Uruk-hai and Dunlendings was far too powerful for the west-mark to handle alone.
After a long weekend of participating in the Spring Festival festivities, I changed pace a little to work on some outfits. With the beautiful Ceremonial Rift gear that is available now, there is enough new stuff available to keep me interested for a while. I originally created this outfit for an elf female character, using the Scout’s Weathered Leather Jacket from Dunland dyed grey (in stead of the Trill-seekers Jacket), but I switched over to a male character later on and remain undecided which outfit I like better. I used a mix of Rift gear from various classes, omitting the cloak as the backside of this chest piece is nice enough.
This week my much admired fellow cosmetic blogger The Starry Mantle celebrates six months of creating awesome lore-specific outfits and she is giving away 1550 Turbine Points for the occasion! If you leave a comment to one of the outfits that she posts this week, you will enter the draw, so make sure to check out her blog and tell her what you think!
If you want to know where a certain armour piece or cosmetic comes from, you can look it up on Lotro Wiki, by typing its name into the search box. You can equip any piece of armour cosmetically through the wardrobe, even armour that is not meant for your class or level.
Chest: Ceremonial Thrill-seeker’s Jacket, red dye (skirmish camp, cosmetic)
Shoulders: Ceremonial Wandering Bard Shoulders, red dye (skirmish camp, cosmetic)
Gloves: Ceremonial Thrill-seeker’s Gloves, red dye (skirmish camp, cosmetic)
Leggings: Dented Leggings of the Dunland Clansman, grey dye (Dunland quest reward)
Feet: Ceremonial Boots of the Gloom-bane, red dye (skirmish camp, cosmetic)
yay, he’s handsome on the first pic! ^^ otherwise great outfit as always 😉
The only reason I play male characters is because I can make them look like Viggo Mortensen. 😛
*cracks up* Oh, Viggo!
awsome outfit i love it and great mixing it is a perfect mix of all the rift cosmetics and also i was wondering if you had any ideas for making a sute for a lvl 27 elf with the cloke named flames of the deep
Hi Adster, I’m sorry but I’m not a big fan of that cloak. If I ever do get inspired I’ll try to make an outfit for it, but don’t hold your breath! 😀
ok i dont mean to troble you so you dont realy have to
He looks ready for battle with a great outfit and some great moves!
Wow, at first glance I thought this was a set! Great job mixing and matching, everything looks so natural together, and each piece is from a different set!
Thanks so much for the shout-out as well, Hymne! 🙂
This is awesome as usual. I love the combination of red and brown!
I like the look of this set. It won’t really work for my Hunter…lol, but it definitely looks good!
I’m really into that 4th photo!!
I’ve got male toons although I’m a woman. Most of the time I’d rather see a “dream” male toon instead of a woman. AND I’ve known several male rpg players that have female characters… I’m sure they’d rather see a sexy female while playing lol :D.
Very nice. Speaking of, I am working on an outfit and I need some shoes with curled up toes. Any ideas?
Curled toe shoes: crafted Tier 6 Light “Rock-climber’s shoes” and in different colours the “Lothlorien shoes”. The Lothlorien design can also be found on the Moria Minstrel/RK/LM class barters. Any Elvish design boots have curled toes as well, but you need shoes it seems. Best and most beautiful curled toe shoes are from the Burglar Lothlorien set (Lady’s Secrecy / Dungeon Crawler’s), only available if you have a Burglar with access to either DN raid or the class barter in Mirkwood Ost Galadh. The Loremaster Lothlorien set also has shoes in stead of boots.
Hope this helps!
Actually, boots wouldn’t be too bad, so I’ll check the elven stuff out. Thanks for your help!
Nice cosmetics you post here. I would like to know how do you take some nice screenshots so close of the character.. Do you have a way to enter another character and zoom the camera into it? It’s like that or its a different thing? I’m asking because I do love to take screenshots too, of outfits, places and landscapes. Thanks and continue with your good work 🙂
Hi Faulk, there’s a very good guide made by Devonna from Lotro Stylist. If you follow her instructions you’ll be making good screenshots in no time! http://lotrostylist.wordpress.com/how-to-take-a-great-screenshot/
Thank you so much! 🙂
It`s 2020 and this is still one of the best I`ve seen, thanks! will try it (or a variation of sorts) on my female cappy.
Aww, thank you for your kind comment!
