Beornings don’t seem to get a lot of cosmetic love (yet). Their Bear Form is the same for every character, with the exception of fur colour, which can be modified slightly by changing the original hair colour of the character, but it’s not a very dramatic change (going from greyish to brownish to black). Within the current parameters I have not found a way to create a golden, red or white Bear Form. Other than that, all bears are same size, same snout, same fur, no extra individual markings or scars, sort of boring. I wish there could be cosmetic options for Bear Form!

So the only interesting cosmetic options for Beornings are within the realm of Man Form. Depending if a player wants to stay true to the description of the Beorning by Tolkien (for as far as this is even possible in game), or if a player wants to wear ‘raid gear’, all manner of options are available as the Beorning is a Heavy Armour class in game.

I chose to revisit the Beorning Lands and find a style for my character that I think matches the feel of the class in game. In the Books the Beorning would wear only simple cloth, and the Character Creation outfits sort of resemble that, but for this one I wanted a more furry appearance. The boots come from the Anniversary Festival which will be here by the end of April, so there’s your chance to pick them up if you haven’t. Also, the Curator, who has the leggings available, is scheduled to be back around the same time.

Given that Beornings spend a lot of time in Bear Form, the Human Form is perhaps of lesser importance, but it can’t hurt to look good no matter the shape you are in!
